A Pellet-Based Additive Manufacturing System Developed for Large-Scale Industrial Production
The Large-Scale Pellet Extrusion 3D Printer is an industrial additive manufacturing system that uses plastic pellets as feedstock. Equipped with a 45 mm extrusion screw, a nozzle diameter of up to 20 mm, and a high-throughput extrusion system, the machine can rapidly deposit large volumes of material. It is suitable for manufacturing large molds, industrial prototypes, automotive components, UAV structures, large furniture, landscape installations, and other large-scale products.
Compared with conventional FDM printers that use plastic filament, pellet extrusion technology provides higher material throughput, greater material flexibility, and lower material and production costs for large-format parts.
Features
1. 45 mm Extrusion Screw
Equipped with a 45 mm extrusion screw , the system uses a servo motor and gearbox to precisely control screw speed and material flow. With a 20 mm nozzle, the maximum extrusion capacity can exceed 35 kg/hr, making it suitable for the rapid production of large-format parts.
2.Printing Nozzle up to 20 mm
The large-diameter nozzle deposits more material in each pass, rapidly building wide beads and thick-wall structures. This significantly reduces printing time for large molds, industrial prototypes, and landscape installations.
3.Direct Plastic Pellet Processing
Plastic pellets can be melted and extruded directly without first being processed into filament, providing greater material flexibility and more possibilities for customized formulations.
Depending on the machine configuration and testing conditions, applicable materials may include PLA, ABS, PETG, PA6, PC, high-performance engineering plastics, fiber-reinforced composites, rPET, rPP, and bio-based materials.
4.Automatic Feeding and Dehumidifying Drying
The machine can integrate material storage, dehumidifying drying, and automatic conveying systems to continuously supply material for large-format printing. This reduces the risks of material shortages, moisture absorption, and unstable extrusion during long printing operations.
5.Advanced Printing Control System
The system integrates servo drive, precise temperature control, and motion control to synchronize material flow with printing speed according to the G-CODE. This helps reduce material buildup at corners, insufficient extrusion, and inconsistent bead width.
